The Senate VETERANS AFFAIRS & EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS Committee and the House VETERANS AFFAIRS & EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS Committee will hold a joint public hearing on Wednesday, February 8, to consider issues of importance to Pennsylvania’s 1 million veterans, according to Senator Randy Vulakovich, Chairman of the Senate committee.
The hearing is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. in Hearing Room 1 in the North Office Building of the State Capitol Complex. The hearing will be streamed live at: http://www.pasenategop.com/.
“The purpose of this hearing is to deal with a number of different subjects that are important to our military community,” Senator Vulakovich said. “We started last session. We had hearings and discussions to put an agenda together that would be important to our military families, try to set priorities and use common sense and reasonableness as to what we think we can accomplish. We will use this to set our agenda. We want to get things done. We don’t want to just talk about things.”
Brigadier General Anthony J. Carrelli, state Adjutant General, as well as representatives from the Pennsylvania Joint State Government Commission, Pennsylvania Veterans Commission, Pennsylvania War Veterans Council, and the Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense are scheduled to testify at the hearing.
