Senate Committee Subpoenas Norfolk Southern CEO Following Bipartisan Vote on Mastriano Proposal
The Senate Veterans Affairs and Emergency Preparedness Committee this morning in Harrisburg approved with bipartisan support a measure introduced by Chairman Doug Mastriano (R-33) to subpoena Norfolk Southern CEO Alan Shaw to appear before the committee in a hearing on Wednesday, March 8. Mastriano, Senate Committee to Subpoena Norfolk Southern CEO to Testify about East Palestine Train Wreck
Sen. Doug Mastriano (R-33), chairman of the Senate Veterans Affairs and Emergency Preparedness Committee, will convene a meeting for members of the committee to vote to subpoena Norfolk Southern CEO Alan Shaw and force him to testify at a future hearing about the company’s response to the Feb. 3 train wreck in East Palestine, Ohio, its decision to ignite dangerous chemicals from several of the railcars on Feb. 5, and the ways these actions negatively affected the health and safety of nearby Pennsylvania residents.
